Tumblr is a social networking website where users can post blogs, articles, photos and videos. A user’s blog can be seen by anyone who visits the user’s profile, or by searching for the user’s username.
However, a user’s blog can be made private by clicking on the “lock icon” in the top right corner of the blog page. This makes the blog inaccessible to anyone who does not have permission to view it.
Some people use private blogs to share sensitive information with friends and family members without fear that it will be seen by the public. Others use private blogs as an informal diary, in which they share thoughts and feelings without worrying about being judged or criticized.
Regardless of why a user chooses to make a blog private, it is important to remember that it is possible to make the blog public again if desired.
