This information is very useful for tracking down inactive readers or for identifying potential problem users. For example, if you notice that a certain IP address is viewing your posts more often than average, it might be worth investigating further.
Alternatively, if you notice that a certain type of browser is being used more often than usual, it might be worth updating your website’s compatibility settings.
