How Do I Organize My Blog Categories?

When you first start blogging, it can be a little daunting to figure out where to start. You might have a million ideas for posts, but which one should you write about? And where do you even start categorizing them?

There are a few different ways to organize your blog posts. You can use tags, topic headings, or categories.

Each has its own benefits and drawbacks. Here’s a look at each:.

Tags

Tags are probably the most popular way to organize blog posts. Simply add a tag (or multiple tags) to your post title, and Google will show you all the posts with that tag.

This is great for quickly finding related posts, but it can be hard to keep track of which post belongs to which tag.

Topic Headings

Another popular way to organize blog posts is by topic headings. This approach involves writing your post title in the form of a keyword or phrase, and then adding a corresponding heading underneath it.

For example, if I wanted to write about fitness tips, I might title my post “Fitness Tips for Beginners” and create the following topic heading: “Health & Fitness”. This way, my blog would show me all the posts tagged “Fitness Tips for Beginners”, as well as all the other topics related to health & fitness that I might want to write about in the future.

Categories

If you want more control over where your blog posts appear on Google Search, then using categories is the way to go. Simply create category tags (or add them as custom parameters when you publish your post), and then your blog posts will appear under their corresponding category on Google Search.

This can be helpful if you want your blog posts to appear in specific locations on the website (like the homepage), or if you just want more granular control over which topics are featured on your website. However, categories can be tricky to manage – once you add a category, it’s hard to remove it without affecting all of your future posts in that category.
