Setting up a WordPress blog is an easy process. There are a few steps you need to take to get started:
Create a new account on WordPress.com. This is the website where WordPress installs and updates your blog. Log in to your account and click the “Create a New Blog” button. In the “Blog Name” field, type your desired blog name. (For example, “My Awesome Blog.”) In the “Domain” field, type the domain name (for example, myawesomeblog.com) where you want your blog to live. In the “Description” field, describe what you will be writing about.
Click the “Create Blog” button. You will be taken to a page where you can see your blog’s details. Click the “Settings” tab and then click the “General” tab. In the “Server Address” field, type the IP address or hostname of your server. (For example, 192.168.1.2.) In the “Port” field, type the port number your server is running on (usually 8080). In the “Database Name” field, type the name of your database (for example, myblog). Click the “Save Changes” button to save your changes and return to the main WordPress site.
To add a blog post, click on your blog’s name in the WordPress home page and then click on Posts in the left-hand column. On the Posts page, scroll down until you find what you want to write about and click on it to open it in a new window/tab.
On the toolbar at the top of this new window/tab, click on Edit (or use keyboard shortcut Ctrl+E). On the Edit Post screen that opens, you will need to provide some information about your post: Title: Type a title for your post that summarizes what it is about.
Body: Write a summary of your post that explains what it is about
Category: Choose one or more categories for this post; for example, Blogging Tips or Product Reviews
Edit Attributes: Change any of these attributes if you wish; for example, Title Font Size or Background Color
Click on Publish Post button at bottom of screen Once you have finished editing your post, click on Publish Post button at bottom of screen to publish it online.
