When you want to take your WordPress blog offline, there are a few things you need to do.
First, you need to go to your blog’s settings and click on the “Uploads” tab. Here, you will see a list of files that have been uploaded to your site.
Click on the file that you want to remove from your site. .
Next, you will need to go to your hosting provider’s website and enter the following information:
1. The full path to the file you just removed from your site.
2. The name of the file (without the .wp extension).
3. The filename without the .wp extension.
4. The location of the file on your hosting provider’s server (for example, c:\WordPress\uploads\file_name).
5. The extension of the file (for example, .jpg).
6. The size of the file in bytes (for example, 1048576).
7. The date/time when the file was uploaded (for example, 7/21/2012 3:15 PM).
8. Your hosting provider’s login information (for example, user name and password).
Finally, upload this information to your hosting provider’s website and confirm that it is correct. Your blog will now be offline until you upload the new files back in place!.
