How Do You APA Cite a Blog?

Citing a blog can be tricky, as not all blogs are automatically compiled into an academic journal. You can use the DOI (Digital Object Identifier) of the blog to find the exact citation information.

Alternatively, you can use the author’s name and the date of the post as your citation.

For example, if you saw this post on a blog titled “How to cite a blog in APA,” you would cite it as follows:

(Smith, K. (2008).

How to cite a blog in APA.) Retrieved from http://www.expertvillage.com/blog/citation-tips-for-using-blogs-in-research/ on October 26, 2016.

In general, you should always include the title of the article or post, followed by the author’s last name and year of publication, then the URL of the website or article where it can be found.
