How to Write a Book Review on a Blog
So you’ve read a book, and now you want to write a review about it. You’re in luck, because writing book reviews is easy on a blog.

Step One: Read the Book
Before you even think about writing a review, you need to read the book. This isn’t as hard as it sounds- just sit down and give the book your full attention.
If you don’t have time to read the whole thing, at least read the first chapter or so. This will give you a basic understanding of what the book is about.
Step Two: Evaluate the Book
After reading the book, it’s time to evaluate it. What did you like and what didn’t you like? Did the author successfully capture your interest from the beginning? Did he or she succeed in delivering on promised plot points? Once you’ve evaluated the book, it’s time to write your thoughts down.
Step Three: Explain Your Evaluation
Now that you’ve evaluated the book, it’s time to explain why. Start by saying something like “I thought ____ was an interesting story” or “I found ____ enjoyable.” Be specific and descriptive when describing your thoughts on the book- this will help your readers understand what they’re reading. If there are any major plot points that didn’t make sense to you, be sure to mention that as well.
After explaining your evaluation, it’s important to give readers some advice for further reading or watching if they want to explore more of the author’s work. End with a reminder that reviews are personal opinions and should not be taken as fact.
