FriendFeed is a social networking site that allows users to share links and blogs with one another. It is similar to other networking sites, such as MySpace and Facebook, but FriendFeed also allows users to share photos and videos. FriendFeed was created in 2006 by four students at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. As of March 2011, it had over 150 million users.
FriendFeed has been compared to blogging sites like Blogger and LiveJournal, but it does not allow users to create their own blogs. Instead, users can share links to blogs or articles they have read, or they can create their own blog posts based on the links they have shared.
While FriendFeed is similar to other social networking sites, it does have some unique features. For example, users can add “friends” who are also using FriendFeed, and then they can see what posts those friends have shared. This feature makes it easy for users to keep up with the latest posts from their friends without having to visit each individual friend’s profile every time.
Additionally, FriendFeed allows users to track the “social shares” of their posts, which means that other users who have shared the post will be counted as part of the social media reach of the post. This feature is useful for gauging how well a post is performing in terms of social media engagement.
While FriendFeed is a great social networking site for sharing content with friends, it does not offer all the features of traditional blogging sites. For example, Blogger allows users to create their own blogs and publish content on a regular basis. Additionally, LiveJournal allows users to share photos and videos as well as blog posts.
While these features are not available on all versions of FriendFeed (the site is available on both desktop and mobile platforms), they are increasingly becoming available as the site continues to grow in popularity. Overall, FriendFeed is a great tool for sharing content with friends and family members; however, it does not offer all the features of traditional blogging sites.
