Should I Use Facebook for My Blog?

There is no doubt that Facebook is one of the most popular and widely used social networking sites in the world. With over 2 billion active users, it’s no wonder why so many bloggers use Facebook to connect with their readers.

However, there are some important considerations to keep in mind before jumping into Facebook as your sole blogging platform.

First and foremost, Facebook is a social networking site first and a blog platform second. While it’s possible to create a blog on Facebook and manage it using the site’s built-in tools, it’s not the best way to do things.

A better approach would be to use a dedicated blogging platform like WordPress or Tumblr, which both offer much more robust tools for creating and managing blogs.

Facebook also doesn’t offer the same level of customization and control over your blog content as some other blogging platforms do. If you want to add text blocks or images to your posts, for example, you’ll need to use third-party plugins or services like WordPress Image Optimizer.

In addition, Facebook doesn’t support commenting on posts or exporting them as PDFs, which are both common features of blog platforms.

All things considered, using Facebook for your blog does have some benefits: It’s one of the most popular social networking sites in the world, and it offers a quick way for readers to connect with your blog posts. However, if you want to create a truly professional blog on Facebook, using a dedicated blogging platform is definitely the best approach.
