Indian Blogging is growing at a rapid pace, and with that comes an increase in revenue for many bloggers. According to a study by the Blogging Industry Association of India (BIAI), the top 10 Indian blogs earned a combined total of Rs. 2,362 crore ($385 million) in 2013.
This is up from Rs. 1,771 crore ($248 million) in 2012.
The top three Indian blogs to earn the most money in 2013 were Flipkart (Rs. 711 crore), Zomato (Rs. 527 crore), and Hindustan Times (Rs. 233 crore).
These three blogs are all well-known and popular online platforms, and their earnings reflect that. It’s no surprise then that they are among the top earners in Indian blogging.
However, there are a number of other blogs that earn significant sums of money as well. The blog ‘BizTechTalk’ earned Rs. 102 crore in 2013, while ‘The Bus Factor’ earned Rs.
58 crore. These are both very successful tech blogs with a large following, so it’s no surprise that their earnings are high as well.
Overall, Indian blogging is growing rapidly and there is a lot of money to be made from it. The top 10 Indian bloggers collectively earned Rs 2362 crore in 2013, which is an impressive figure given the growth of the blogosphere over that period of time.
