Who Is the Founder of Blogging?

The history of blogging can be traced back to the early 1990s when people started using Bulletin Board Systems (BBS) to share information. In 1993, software developer Steve Rubel created the first blog, which was called “The WEB Log”. In 1995, a blog called “Planet Blog” was created by John Gilmore and it quickly became one of the most popular blogs in the world. In 1997, bloggers Tim O’Reilly and Dave Winer collaborated on the first book about blogging, which was called “O’Reilly’s Website: A Beginner’s Guide to Blogging”.

In 2003, blogger and web designer Clay Shirky co-founded the online magazine Slate, which quickly became one of the most popular blogs in the world. In 2006, blogger Douglas Rushkoff started writing a blog called “Douglas Rushkoff: On the Media” which quickly became one of the most popular blogs in the world.
