Is Pitchfork a Blog?

Pitchfork is a music website that reviews albums and singles. It was founded by Ryan Schreiber, who also founded The A.V.

Club, and has been owned by Conde Nast since 2006. Pitchfork has been described as a “site that gives its readers a constantly updated guide to the latest developments in indie rock”, while also covering mainstream popular music.

Pitchfork has been critiquing music since 1995, when it started covering independent releases. In 2006, Pitchfork acquired The A. Club, which continued to review albums and singles.

In early 2012, Pitchfork launched a new website called “Pitchfork TV”, which includes short videos about various topics in the music industry. Stereogum’s editor-in-chief, Jesse Zuchowski, will become the editor of Pitchfork’s music section.
